Vietnam Factory Farming Workshops....coming in March!
Just wanted to share an exciting project that Kairos Coalition is currently working on. During the week of 4-8 March, we will be working with Humane Society International and Yeu Dong Vat to conduct a series of workshops aimed at developing a deeper and broader public awareness about the disastrous implications of rapid industrialization of the animal agriculture sector in Vietnam.
1) During the afternoon of March 4th and 7th, we will be conducting information awareness…

Restored Hope Foster Home, Part II
Many of you will recall our plan to establish a communal foster home for dogs and cats rescued off the streets of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam....a place where these scared and injured animals can find love and be prepared physically and temperamentally for eventual adoption into suitable forever homes.
The Restored Hope Foster Home opened last spring in part through a grant of $1,500 in March 2012. We followed up with a subsequent grant of $3,500 in August 2012 and recently…

Planting Seeds of Compassion Project Phase II
In December 2012, Kairos Coalition provided tuition grants totaling $2,800 to 74 primary, secondary and university students for this school year. It may not seem like a lot of money but this was enough to cover the tuition and fees for these students for the first half of the 2012-2013 school year. This was a continuation of the previous school year tuition grants top 74 students. 2 dropped out of the program so we added two new students to the scholarship rolls.
Since the last…

Abused, disabled cats get wheelchairs and new homes through international effort
Sometimes, we don’t have to look very far for opportunities to do good things.
Often, they simply find us. Fate does all the hard work. We just have to keep our eyes open and be willing to take risks when such moments arise. All that is required of us is compassion, courage and perhaps a bit of faith.
I call these moments “Kairos” opportunities, points in time that collide with destiny to create a singular window of wondrous opportunity. These moments cannot be measured or…
